A Humble Beginning
Jitendra Solanki's journey began in Dehradun, India, where he was born and raised. He pursued an MBA at the University of Roorkee, marking the beginning of his career in the financial sector. After various roles and experiences in Mumbai, he found himself working for different banks in investment management. Jitendra's career took him from Mumbai to Muradabad and eventually to Delhi.
However, despite his professional success, Jitendra felt unfulfilled. He was searching for a deeper purpose and a way to make a meaningful impact on people's lives. In 2009, this restlessness prompted him to take a risk and quit his career to become a Certified Financial Planner.
A Pioneering Spirit
Jitendra's journey into financial planning was not a smooth ride initially. In the early days of his new career, he struggled to find clients and generate income. The pressure to sell various financial products loomed, but his ethical principles wouldn't allow him to compromise on what he believed was in his clients' best interests.
His breakthrough came when he decided to specialise in serving families of children with special needs. This choice stemmed from a personal relationship; his wife, Dr. Shweta, was a physician with a great deal of experience treating these kinds of families. Inspired by her work, Jitendra realised there was a big need in the market for financial advisors who actually understood the special difficulties these families faced.
Bridging the Gap
In a country where there were no specialised financial advisors for families of children with special needs, Jitendra decided to take on this responsibility himself. He immersed himself in research, gaining insights into the daily lives, concerns, and priorities of these families. His dedication led him to write a comprehensive book, which remains one of the most invaluable resources for families in this segment.
Jitendra didn't stop at writing; he took to the road, conducting over 50 workshops across India, raising awareness about financial planning for such families. He became their beacon of hope, offering them guidance and comfort by addressing the fundamental question that haunted them: "After us, then what?"
A Comprehensive Approach
Recognising that financial planning alone couldn't provide complete security for families of children with special needs, Jitendra expanded his expertise into estate planning. He knew that this aspect was equally critical, and he couldn't find a single lawyer specialising in Private Trusts and Wills for these families in India.
Undeterred, he went into the complicated subject of estate planning, understanding the legal nuances, and providing comprehensive solutions to his clients. In 2020, he launched an estate planning firm exclusively focused on special needs trusts, offering a complete range of advisory and trustee services.
